Graceful tree, small leaves, hardy on exposed sites.  Has tangled juvenile foliage which may persist for many years. As the tree matures it weeps gracefully. Golden yellow tubular nectar filled flowers in pendulous racemes appear in massed displays during spring, and they are fondly chased by native birds(tuis, wood pigeons) to extract the nectar from the mouth of each flower.Height 5m width 3m.
