This shrub or small tree of up to 9m if left untrimmed. Can be distinguished from more popular Japanese or European box by its larger thicker leaves, mostly 25-30mm long more or less oblong or wedge shaped. Erect vigorous growth habit and gains height quickly, suitable also for topiary. More frost hardy than some varieties.
